In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, D-8 Organization seeks to avail the promising opportunity in the aviation market. As popuparly known, during the month of Ramadan there are thousands, if not millions, of Muslims in D-8 countries travelling back and forth for Umroh, ziarah; and millions D-8 migrant workers also back and forth for reuniting with their family home during the celebration of the Ied’l Fitr Mubarak.
The holy month of Ramadan is a very special time for people living and working in the UAE and the Middle East, and D-8 organization is keen to unveil these great value fares that will provide her people with the opportunity to visit family and friends who live abroad.
“I believe, while honoring the spiritual benefits of the holy month of Ramadan, there is a good market for D-8 Airlines as well, especially during the low seasons,” said Dipo Alam, commenting about the initiative.
Alam said that D-8 will issue letters to D-8 DG Civil Aviation to suggest D-8 Airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, MAS, PIA, Iran Air, Biman, and Egypt Air about the initiative. He brought into mind the move by Etihad Airways (of UAE), that has slashed its air fares by up to 50 percent on various routes for the holy month of Ramadan and the autumn.
Alam also said that this move will go in line with the outcomes of the D-8 last DGCA meeting in Bali, Indonesia, where it was decided to establish several task forces and encourage D-8 DG Civil Aviation to proceed in deeper cooperation steadily.
D-8 secretariat also express a happiness for the start of the month of Ramadan. “We pray to the almighty Allah for His blessings in this holy month of Ramadan for all Muslim Uma’h around the globe,” it said in the press release earlier this week.
