D-8 Organisation to hold the 9th HLTO Meeting, 11-13 November 2007, Istanbul

The Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Turkey has announed her readiness to host the 9th Meeting of High Level Trade Officials of D-8 Countries in Istanbul, on 11-13 November 2007.
The delegates and representatives of eight Muslim member countries including Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, Nigeria and Pakistan are all expected to participate in the 9th HLTO.
D-8 Secretary General Dr Dipo Alam said D-8 members had great economic potential and could make tremendous progress by collaborating. He said they should enhance efforts to fulfil this potential.
The 9th HLTO meeting will work on the finalization of the draft text of Rules of Origin for the implementation of the PTA. The D-8 Secretariat through its secretary general, underlined the importance and urgency to invite the member countries to ratify these two Agreements speedily so that they enter into force at an early date.
