Success in Isfahan 2nd Meeting to have MOU and TOR: Turkey will leads D-8 Civil Aviation Cooperation in 2007-2009

The Second Meeting of D-8 Director Generals of Civil Aviation in Isfahan, Iran, September 8-10, 2007, resulted an important Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Terms of Reference (TOR) on the establishment of D-8 Working Group on the Civil Aviation Cooperation.

Secretary General Dipo Alam attended the meeting, chaired together with DGCA of Iran, praised the success of all D-8 Director Generals of Civil Aviation (DGCAs), especially to Irans’ DGCA Dr Khnalari for his hospitality and effectively hosting the meeting, as well as to DGCA of Turkey Dr. Ali Ariduru who was appointed to serve a two-years term for chairing the Working Group from October 2007 to October 2009. This second meeting was success, as the sucess of the first meeting in Antalya, Turkey, June 28-20, 2007, that showing how serious D-8 DGCAs facing challenges and take cooperation opportunities in the civil aviation sectors. It is agreed by all delegates that the third meeting will be in December 2007 in Istanbul, Turkey, and subsequent meeting will be held in every 6 months of the year.

In this 3rd meeting “down-to-earth” programs and projects will be discussed, D-8 DGCAs pledge to speed things up to implement cooperation programs, to keep pace with a lot of new regulations, rapid changes of technologies, competition in business opportunities in civil aviation sector, that should be performed properly for the benefits of member states that representing progressive developing countries.
