Turkish company eyes to set up pipe making plant in Karachi

The mayor of Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal, has said that City Government is fully encouraging and patronising the local and foreign investors and is concluding agreements directly with international and reputed companies under public-private partnership.
Kamal said that investment in this rapidly developing city would not only strengthen the national economy but also help provide job opportunities to the youth of Karachi. He was talking to a delegation of Turkish industrialists, who called on him alongwith Turkish Consul General Edem Mutaf here on Thursday.
The delegation included Turkish Commercial Attache Nail Ersoy besides International Sales Co-ordinator of Dizay Group, Kosedag Hakan Ozde Mir and Company’s Export Manager. Dizayn Group showed interest in setting up a pipe manufacturing plant in Karachi.
Kamal said that City Government would provide all facilities to the company to install its modern plant at the defunct KDA Pipe Factory so that the growing requirements for development activity could be met. The delegation informed the Mayor that the company is not only working in Istanbul with a population of 15 million but also in other countries. The Mayor directed the concerned officials to take such steps with a complete briefing and presentation making immediate benefit possible.
Turkey is among the biggest exporter country among the D-8 Member states. With high export growth and wider job opportunities each year, this country serve best model for investment, and splendid export performance.
Dr. Dipo Alam, the D-8 Secretary General, expresses his belief that the success story of Turkey in boosting the export performances can be a good illustration to other member states as well, and hope that Turkey can continously play its major role in speeding up the Preferential Trade Agreement so that they can be implemented as soon as possible without delay.
