PM Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey assured Secretary General Dipo Alam active supports to D-8 Activities

The governing Justice and Development Party (AKP) won 47% of votes in the 22 July 2007 general elections in Turkey. This has allowed the AKP to take 340 out of 550 seats in the Parliament and form a single-party government. The AKP managed to exceed expectations and scoop an extra 13% of votes, compared with the 2002 election results.
D-8 Organisation expressed her congratulation to all Turkish professional staff and Cabinet for winning the hearts and minds of brotherly Turkish people through an unprecedented transparent, peaceful and democratic election process.
